German-born writer/director Etienne Sievers grew up in three different countries, spending most of his childhood in India. Deeply engaged with the country and its people from an early age, Etienne’s work as a filmmaker reinforced his connection to the subcontinent. His short films The Peanut Seller and Dilli Dreams, shot in and around New Delhi, won numerous awards at major international Indian film festivals, including the Satyajit Ray Award at the London Indian Film Festival. Raised and educated bilingually (German/English), Etienne’s cross-cultural sensitivity translates into an original point of view as a storyteller with a well-founded understanding of diverse characters and a keen eye for extraordinary subject matter.
